The choir was formed in 1998 when parents at the Annandale North Public School were re-introduced to the joys of singing by singer, arranger and choir director Stuart Davis. In 2018 the choir celebrated its 20th Anniversary by putting on a concert. As well as having a great time, $5000 was raised to support Elsie’s Women’s Refuge. In April 2025 Stairwell celebrated 25 years of singing together with another concert at the Tramsheds in Glebe. This time we raised funds for the Music Therapy Programme at the Chris OBrien Lifehouse.
James Paul was our director from 2010 to July 2023 when he left us to direct the Sydney Male Voice choir. While his talent and good humour are missed, we are delighted to have Georgina Andrews as our current director.
